RSM Campout at Rangeley Lakes Campground

The gang at Rangeley Lakes Campground

Dan Sherman, John Horne, Donna Stinson, and Bryan Van Dussen attended last weekend‘s Rangely camping trip. Initially, we wondered why so few showed. But that quickly gave away to a weekend of camaraderie, good laughing, BDR-riding, and campfire chats. The weather was outstanding if a bit autumnal in the mornings;  warm and sunny otherwise. Donna arrived on her new-to-her 310 R, John Horne in his V Strom, Dan Sherman on his GSA and me on my dirty but stunning 2014 GS.

Dan, John and I rode the BDR up to Pittsburgh. New Hampshire on Saturday, had lunch and returned via the BDR. All in about 50:50 dirt. The last several miles of the BDR are closed due to road closure and washouts otherwise it would’ve been more like 60:40 dirt to the Canadian border.

Donna stayed close to the campsite and circumnavigated Rangely lake exploring the area.

Next day we broke camp and headed to Classic Provisions in Rangely for breakfast where we ran into three or four potentially new (and enthusiastic) members to the club. Two of whom rode in on GSA’s recently purchased after selling their Harleys.
