Members of the Riders of Southern Maine got together on Sunday afternoon/evening February 4th for the Annual Winter/Holiday Gathering! This year, the Club elected to hold the event at Rachel’s On The Green in Cumberland Center, where we had the venue all to ourselves!
With an excellent turnout of 64 members and guests, the afternoon started at 4:00 pm with an open cash bar and time to visit and catch up with friends. The buffet dinner opened at 5:30 pm, with salad, vegetables, and a variety of main courses for dinner. The food was good, and certainly there was plenty of it! If anybody was still hungry after dinner, it was their own fault!
And to finish the evening, Peter from our local BMW Dealer, Street Cycles, provided a presentation of his recent trip to Thailand with BMW Motorrad for the East Asia introduction of the new R1300GS. Peter shared some amazing stories and photographs of his journey, which included insights into the local geography, food, and culture, aside from our general interest in BMW motorcycles and riding. It was clearly a fantastic adventure for Peter, and it was nice to have him share it with the Club.
It was a welcoming and wonderful evening together for the Club, especially at a time when our Maine weather makes it very difficult if not impossible to ride!
